WHO WE ARE
Music for Life Africa Foundation (MULIA) is a Community Based Organization that was founded in 2014 in Nakisunga Sub-county, Mukono District, Uganda. To empower, instil hope and engender a sense of continuity in vulnerable and disadvantaged youth in Uganda through Performing Arts, Education and livelihood programs.
At MULIA, creativity through performing arts is the raw material for social change and we believe life’s problems, struggles, accomplishments and celebrations can be conveyed through music which inspires and breathes life. We use music to empower the youth, children and families. This allows for creativity, innovation and building of communities who can challenge the status quo to come up with meaningful solutions to the challenges they are facing.
At MULIA, we accept vulnerable children aged four and up who come from any background. We oppose discrimination, and actively seek to destigmatize children who are disabled or who have been diagnosed with any infection or disease, including and especially HIV.
We are also a community that believes in the value of family. We stay in touch with parents/guardians of our program participants through monthly meetings and workshops; in this way we are able to do as much as possible to ensure the health and well-being of our youth for creation of all-round sustainable community.
